Our Team

David is the Managing Director at Beedie Capital. David has helped lead the growth of Beedie Capital into one of the largest private investment platforms in Western Canada. In his role, David sources, executes and manages key investments as well as oversees the strategy and direction for Beedie Capital.

Prior to Beedie Capital, David had roles in Investment Banking at CIBC and at KPMG in Corporate Finance. He started his career in audit and assurance at KPMG. He holds both a CA and CBV designation as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.

Adrian is a Director at Beedie Capital and joined the team in 2022. He is responsible for managing key components of Beedie Capital’s investment process including origination, evaluation and execution of investment opportunities. In addition, he is responsible for supporting the group’s investments.

Prior to joining Beedie Capital, Adrian worked at BDC Growth Equity Partners and Canadian Business Growth Fund (CBGF) where he worked on several growth equity and buy-out transactions.

Adrian Graduated from Haskayne School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Andrew is a Director focused on Beedie Capital’s metals and mining investments. Joining the team in 2022, he brings a blend of finance and technical skillsets to his role at Beedie. His mining industry experience was gained working Geologist for junior explorers and major mining companies. Most recently he has held roles in investment banking and corporate development.

Andrew holds an MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University. He attended the University of Waterloo where he received a BSc. (Hon) in Geology and has a Masters in Geology from the University of British Columbia. He is a CFA charterholder and a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) registered with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).

Alexander is a Director at Beedie Capital and joined the team in 2024. In his current role, he is responsible for aspects of the investment process, including strategic partnership development and origination, deal execution and portfolio management.

Prior to joining Beedie Capital, Alexander held roles in Corporate Development and Sales Strategy at Northleaf Capital Partners and began his career as a Management Consultant at PwC.

Alexander holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Relations from Carleton University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from IE Business School.

Brian is an Associate Director at Beedie Capital and joined the team in 2021. He is involved in the evaluation and execution of new investments as well as the monitoring of portfolio company investments.

Prior to joining Beedie Capital, Brian was an Associate at BCI, British Columbia’s pension fund, where he was involved in evaluating and executing private debt investments in mid-market companies in North America and Europe across various sectors. Brian studied at the University of Western Ontario, where he completed his Honours Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Alexander is an Associate at Beedie Capital and  joined the team in 2024. He is involved in the evaluation and execution of new investments as well as the monitoring of portfolio company investments.

Prior to joining Beedie capital, Alexander was an Analyst at Mawer Investment Management, where he was responsible for monitoring existing portfolio holdings and leading initiations on new portfolio ideas for global equities across Mawer asset classes and portfolios.

Alexander studied at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he earned a Bachelor of Financial Mathematics, and a Bachelor of Business Administration, minoring in economics from the Lazaridis School of Business. Alexander is a CFA Charterholder.

Iqbal is an Associate at Beedie Capital and joined the team in 2023. He is involved in the evaluation and execution of new investments and the monitoring of portfolio company investments.

Prior to joining Beedie Capital, Iqbal was involved in various transactions across the Canadian financial services industry as an Investment Banking Analyst at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce with honours from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business.

Oliver is an Associate at Beedie Capital and joined the team in 2024. He is involved in the evaluation and execution of new investments as well as the monitoring of portfolio company investments.

Prior to joining Beedie Capital, Oliver was an investment banking associate at BMO in Toronto, where he was primarily responsible for executing M&A transactions in the industrial, packaging, and aerospace & defense sectors. Before joining BMO, Oliver was an analyst at Deloitte on the mid-market M&A team.

Oliver studied at Queen’s University, where he completed his Bachelor of Commerce from the Smith School of Business and holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Kyle is responsible for overseeing and managing the key operational activities of Beedie Capital. He oversees the delivery of insights and solutions to support management decision-making as well as performance management, marketing activities and reporting.

Prior to joining Beedie Capital in 2022, Kyle worked for HSBC as a Strategy and Operations Manager and was responsible for the execution of Corporate and Commercial Banking strategy in Western Canada.

Kyle holds a BComm in Finance and Economics from Dalhousie University.

Messalina is the Manager, Accounting & Reporting of Beedie Capital. She is responsible for managing Beedie Capital’s financial affairs, including accounting, financial reporting, and treasury.

Prior to joining Beedie Capital in 2018, Messalina worked for Qwest Investment Fund Management Ltd., Qwest Funds Corp. and Heritage Bancorp Ltd. as a Controller. Her career spans over 10 plus years in financial products and services, including merchant banking, investment fund management, portfolio management, income trust, flow-through funds and mutual funds.

Messalina holds a Bachelor of Technology (Accounting) from BCIT. She also holds the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Alison is a Fund and Operations Accountant at Beedie Capital and joined the team in 2023. She is responsible for supporting the operational and accounting needs of Beedie Capital.

Prior to joining Beedie Capital, Alison worked for PwC Ireland as an Assurance Senior Associate in the Asset & Wealth Management department. She worked on the audits of a number of global Investment Funds.

Alison graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Finance and also holds the Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) designation.

Sonia is an Intermediate Account at Beedie Capital and joined the team in 2024. She is responsible for supporting the accounting and tax needs of Beedie Capital.

Prior to joining Beedie Capital, Sonia worked for the Beedie Family Office. She was responsible for supporting the accounting and tax needs of multiple entities including Foundations. During her co-op, Sonia worked with the Canada Revenue Agency in the GST audit department.

Sonia graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and is currently pursuing her CPA designation.
